Heart and Lotus is a Canadian fairly traded sterling silver jewellery brand based in the Fraser Valley, BC. We design meaningful jewellery handcrafted by third-generation silversmiths in India using 100% recycled sterling silver and genuine ethically sourced gemstones. Every piece is fairly traded, sustainably made and arrives gift ready.

Where is Heart and Lotus based?
We are based in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia, Canada. Our jewellery is designed in Canada and handcrafted by our partner artisans in India.

Is Heart and Lotus jewellery ethically made?
Yes — every piece is 100% fairly traded. Our artisan partners work in a solar powered studio, are paid excellent wages and receive medical benefits. Our sterling silver is 100% recycled and our gemstones are ethically sourced. We are also a carbon balanced business.

Materials & Quality

What materials do you use?
We use 100% recycled 925 sterling silver and 14kt gold over recycled brass. Our gemstones are genuine semi-precious stones.

What does .925 sterling silver mean?
925 sterling silver means the metal is 92.5% pure silver — the highest quality standard for sterling silver jewellery. The remaining 7.5% is typically copper which adds strength and durability. All Heart and Lotus silver pieces are stamped .925.

What is 14kt gold over recycled brass?
This is a base of recycled brass with a layer of 14kt gold applied over the top. It gives the warm appearance of gold jewellery at an accessible price point. With proper care it maintains its colour beautifully.

Are your gemstones real?
Yes — all Heart and Lotus pieces feature genuine semi-precious gemstones. 

Is your jewellery hypoallergenic?
Our sterling silver pieces are hypoallergenic and nickel free, making them suitable for most sensitive skin types.

Jewellery Care

How do I care for my Heart and Lotus jewellery?

• Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight
• Remove before swimming, showering or exercising
• Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, hand sanitizers, household cleaners and lotions
• Clean gently with a soft dry cloth
• Store silver pieces in an airtight bag to slow tarnishing

Will my silver jewellery tarnish?
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time when exposed to air and moisture. This is normal and does not affect quality. A gentle polish with a silver cloth will restore its shine.

Do you ship across Canada?
Yes — we offer $25 flat rate shipping across Canada on orders under $125. And flat rate shipping of $15 on orders over $125.

Do you ship internationally?
Yer we do. Individual shipping rated will apply.

How long does delivery take?
Canadian orders typically arrive within 5-10 business days. 

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?
We want you to love your Heart and Lotus piece. If you are not completely satisfied please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order to arrange a return or exchange. Items must be unworn and in original condition.

What if my jewellery arrives damaged?

Do you offer wholesale?
